We are seeking to appoint a Corporate Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join a multinational team committed to driving the safety culture forward.
The successful candidate will be required to assist, advise and support from Corporate to all GRI manufacturing plants in their respective environmental health and safety needs, periodically visiting these plants to verify on-site the progress and continuous improvement in environmental, safety, hygiene, ergonomics and psychosocial conditions through technical, organizational improvements and the integration of the IPRL in the management system. Coordinate studies of environmental impact, annexes of environmental integration of projects, studies of waste management, studies and projects related to climate change, resilience and sustainability.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Define the policies, procedures and management standards of Environment, Health & Safety applicable to the different Group companies.
Guide, promote, support and supervise the implementation of IPRL in Group companies according to the legal regulations, ISO 450001 and the minimum standards established in the Group to have adequate level of Health and Safety in jobs and facilities.
Conduct internal audits in compliance with our internal standard IPRL, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, corporate policies and systems as well as monitoring external audits.
Monitor updates of the Legal Regulations applicable in Spain, identifying the legal and regulatory requirements in EHS that could be applicable to the Group’s activity.
Design and implement the global plans against accidents and monitor progressive improvement of facilities, equipment and working conditions.
Develop technical specifications for the aspects which can have greater impact on working conditions of the employees to eliminate any risk; safety in facilities, raw material and finished product warehouses, machinery safety perimeters, equipment and production lines, signaling workplaces etc.
Supervise working conditions in the plant, continues support to the plants, periodical visits to the plants in all around the world.
Design the most critical safety aspects in the acquisition of new production lines, equipment and machines of the new plants, installations or equipment according to the Specifications: safety perimeters of machines, material storage areas, etc., as well as monitoring the compliance with the standards& legislation.
Collaborate in the investigation of accidents and incidents that take place in the Plants and subsequently communicate with a monthly report to the Managers and Health and Safety Coordinators of each plant for their study and internal consideration. Establish corrective and preventive actions as well as improvement opportunities.
Quarterly critical analysis and monitoring of the report of accident rate indicators among plants based on relative accident rates, statistics of the causes and consequences of the accidents, the training effort in EHS in each plant at the level of compliance with corporate policies, the commitment of management, consultation and participation of the workers, etc.
Standardize the training and information content to be provided to employees regarding EHS both prior to the incorporation and periodically for the reinforcement of the theoretical and practical knowledge of each worker.
Support environmental audits (ISO 14001 and Environmental Reference SGI) in companies.
Carry out the management and development of the group’s environmental projects using a wide range of techniques to produce effective results that must be communicated.
Control and monitoring of Environmental Management of companies through environmental indicators to determine their environmental performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Coordinate and define the activities with the third-party prevention service in corporate and plants in Spain. Coordinate with «MUTUA» and define action plans for the Plants in Spain.
Maintain and update the PPEs Catalogue of GRI for the plants in Spain and as well as participate in the definition of catalogues in different countries, always choosing the best PPE according to the risks assessed.
University Degree in Engineering. Preferably specialization in Industrial, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Masters degree in Health & Safety is a must.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Environmental Health& Safety.
5 Years of experience in coordinating and managing EHS teams in Industrial and Multinational organizations with manufacturing plants in different countries.
Valuable Knowledge and Skillset:
Heavy industry, especially steel manufactruing.
Knowledge of ISO 12100 Machinery Safety.
Knowledge of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
Facilities and their requirements thereof.
Management Systems, System audits (ISO 45001).
High level of English (this position involves daily communication in English)
Valuable language: Portuguese.
