As a Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Specialist the mission of your role is to drive, coordinate and prioritize SH&E processes and projects, to guide and advise the internal stakeholders in the delivery of all Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment results. To ensure the business is always in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, Ecolab and Nalco policies and standards.
Core Accountabilities
To ensure robust, clear and well understood SH&E processes and procedures are in place to meet regulatory, Ecolab and Nalco, and other best practice SH&E standards are in place as are appropriate to the business
To ensure through competent risk assessment processes that prioritized plans are developed and actions taken to improve SH&E performance
To maintain SH&E in the forefront of daily activities, and lead by example at every given opportunity
What You Will Do
Be member of SH&E team in Iberia, providing support to all SH&E Corporate and legal requirements within the market to Functions and Divisions.
Ensure compliance with all current legislation applicable on SH&E matters, ensuring the safety of all jobs and associates.
Provide support to Ecolab Corporate policies implementation and participate in European SH&E initiatives
Carry out legal Risk Assessment and Preventative Activity Plan according to legal requirements and based on Divisions and Functions needs.
Coordinate Preventative actions with External partners in Spain and Portugal to complement activities taken internally.
Collaborate in development of local SH&E procedures that complement Global SH&E Policies to fulfil with local legal requirements related to Preventive model set-up in the Country.
Development of tracking and compliance SH&E indicators such as KPI, investigation of accidents or incidents, results of regulatory inspections and compliance audits.
Identify direct, indirect and potential environmental aspects, carry out their evaluation and assess the significance of these environmental aspects
Coordinate with Prequalification team on activities and documentation related to Customers, contractors and suppliers
Engage and collaborate with the SH&E Divisional Business Partners and safety champions to gain cross-functional support and to identify opportunities for leveraging initiatives across Divisions.
Delivering Legal and Corporate training programs, by providing coaching, guidance and advice to other functions concerning SH&E and ensuring competency and compliance with regulations.
Facilitate development and implementation of the industrial hygiene program where required.
Ensuring that emergency plans are current, communicated and implemented.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in occupational safety and health.
Certificate in Labor Risk Prevention (PRL)
+3 years of practical experience and/ or well-developed understanding of SH&E practices, standards and Spanish and Portuguese legislation and regulatory requirements
Fluent level of English and Spanish
Ability to work in a matrixed and multi-cultural environment
Availability to travel
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree level Environmental or Chemical Engineering or in another related field.
Strong team orientation, self-starter and highly motivated individual
Practical, flexible and involved approach to providing SH&E support and services at all staff levels and locations
Policy development / Safety Management System experience
Field service and sales experience
Project management skills
Fluent in Portuguese would be an advantage.
